Abstract Prior to the maturation of function and operation of high-tech products, users’ psychological comprehension and variation of lifestyle will have great influence on the design guidelines for new products. A new design language is now forming in the high-tech communication. The adaptability to this current becomes the key component in the design aspect. Furthermore, this study carries out the method of reviewing finished products. It attempted to direct the designers’ viewpoint into the appropriate way. Numerous objective opinions are added into the design process via the experimental and investigated information. It is desired that results could tend to the inner part of users. Designers could also review the communication results between the concept of designers themselves and users. In the first stage, the objects of study are the high-tech products that have the high market share. The first five pattern languages of high tech design are concluded in this study by way of questionnaire results. In the following stage, factor analysis of those selected pattern languages are carried out to get the pattern factors. We proceeded to the practical cases in accordance with those factors. Semantic Differential Assessment is performed to investigate the results and check if they satisfy the mentality of users or not. This study examines the fundamental concept of annotation of molding of users and designers. The result would be contributive to reduce the concept difference between users and designers and make products answer the requirements of general users.
