Nowadays, Image Processing has been developed as a key technology for the information society. In this field, Face Detection and Face Recognition technologies have been improved a lot in last decade. Face Detection technology can be used as the preprocessing of Face Recognition, both speed and accuracy play crucial roles in Face Detection Rate. In this thesis, we transferred the color images to binary and then extracted the face blocks. In order to get the integrity and accuracy of the Face Detection, this research used morphological dilation and erosion operations to eliminate noises and extend the connected face regions detected. Finally, we used statistics and conditions limit to obtain the face position.
