控制信念對被害經驗與被害恐懼感關係之調節作用

摘要

被害經驗對被害恐懼感之影響在實證研究上結果分歧，有些研究認為被害經驗與被害恐懼感之間具有正向的影響，有些則認為兩者間的關係並不顯著，可能受到個人心理特質影響，調節了被害經驗對於被害恐懼感之影響程度；而探討控制信念與被害恐懼感之相關研究可知，傾向外控信念者比傾向內控信念者有較高程度的被害恐懼感。故本研究檢驗被害經驗、控制信念與被害恐懼感三者之關係，以瞭解被害經驗多寡對於被害恐懼感程度高低之影響，是否受到個人控制信念傾向所調節。
本研究使用次級資料分析法，分析謝靜琪教授「犯罪受害恐懼：以社會心理學的取向來探討」調查研究資料。結果發現：（一）性別與被害恐懼感各層面均達顯著負相關，年齡與被害恐懼感認知層面的「被害可能性認知」及行為層面的「保護行為」達顯著負相關，教育程度則與認知層面的「被害嚴重性認知」、情意層面的「特定性被害恐懼」、行為層面的「保護行為」呈顯著正相關；（二）被害經驗對不同層面之被害恐懼感有不同影響力，僅對於認知層面的「被害可能性認知」及行為層面的「迴避行為」有顯著影響；（三）外在控制信念對被害經驗與被害恐懼感認知層面的「被害可能性認知」之影響具有調節效果，在低被害經驗組，低外控信念者的被害可能性認知程度低於高外控信念者；內在控制信念則對於被害經驗與被害恐懼感行為層面的「迴避行為」之影響具有調節效果，在低被害經驗組，高內控信念者比低內控信念者採取更多的迴避行為。
根據研究結果，建議可配合多元教育管道，宣導適當的犯罪防治對策與觀念，使個人對犯罪被害有正確認知並學習適當有效的因應行為，而不會產生不必要的恐懼感影響正常生活。

There are some discrepancies between the results of extant research on victimization experiences and fear of crime. Some studies suggest that more victimization experiences leads to a higher-level fear of crime, others claim that the relationship between them is not significant because of the effect of personal traits. Researches about locus of control and fear of crime indicate that people who believe things are beyond their control (external, powerful others, etc.) are more afraid of being victimized. This study examines whether the relationship between victimization experience and fear of crime is moderated by locus of control.
This study analyzes the data from the project “Explaining Fear of Crime: From a Social Psychological Approach” led by Professor Ching-chi Hsieh. Results show that (a) gender is negatively correlated with every dimension of fear of crime; age has negative correlations with “perceived seriousness of victimization” and “protective behavior”; education background is positively correlated with “perceived seriousness of victimization”, “specific fear of crime” and “protective behavior” (b) victimization experience only significantly affects “perceived possibility of victimization” and “avoidant behavior” (c) victimization experience and perceived possibility of victimization is moderated by external locus of control, whilst victimization experience and avoidant behavior is moderated by internal locus of control.
