單親父職內涵探討

摘要

在社會變遷中，家庭結構的改變，單親家庭是成長最快速的家庭類型。女性單親家庭的經濟劣勢，一直是關注的焦點。相較於男性單親家庭，父親角色的被重視是近年來才有的趨勢。男性和女性在社會中賦予的角色期待迥異，社會期待父親是擔任養家者（provider）的角色。然而單親事件後，除了必須擔負養家者工具性角色還必須承擔情感性的角色，單親父親如何面對不同的單親問題，又如何呈現親職內涵？
本研究採質性研究，深入訪談十位單親父親，以受訪者的有無原生家庭支援（或是女性她者）及社經地位，分類為以下四類：「白領-她者協助」、「藍領-她者協助」「白領-無她者協助」「藍領-無她者協助」。單親父親因社經地位、有無女性她者的協助且在各種的因素交雜之下產生不同的型態，這些適應型態就會在「單親父親之工作、家務及社會人際網絡」「單親父親之親孩關係」「單親父親之情感與『父兼母職』看法」「單親父親之求助」出現顯著的差異。研究結果顯示不同面向中的差異在單親父親經歷單親事件後會因男子氣概是否有所撼動，導致形成偏向父權維持傳統型的單親父親，或是轉型逐漸涉入部分親職亦或是甚至成為一個參與型的單親父親，使其在親職品質上有不同的呈現。

Single-parent family is one of the rapidest growth type among the change of family structure in the transforming society. The inferiority of finance situation of female in single-parent family is of more concerned. While the role of the male in a single-parent family draws more attentions not until recently. Male or female plays roles substantially different in the society. Male is expected to be the provider in raising family. While being in the single family, male has also to be a counselor in dealing with emotion other than provider. Male, in single-parent family, faces various kinds of problems in the family as well as try to be competent in becoming a father.
The methodology adopted in this study is qualitative inquire by in-depth interview, and ten single fathers were involved. It is the purpose to try find out how the financial situation, the social and economical status, the assistance from the original family and from female others, will affect the single-parent family. Four different types of male are resulted from the aforementioned factors:「while-collar with female others assistance」、「blue-collar with female others assistance」、「while-collar without female others assistance」、「blue-collar without female others assistance」。These four type of male affected further by other causes, and they show significant differences in the area:「the competence of job and the household affairs and social inter-personal network」, 「the relationship with kid」, 「the emotion and a father does mothering in a single parent family」, and 「the asking for assistance」, as being a father in single-parent family. Differences are described and discussed in this thesis. It is found that whether there is any change in masculinity in the course of single father parenting this will cause the quality of parenthood. It will result single father’s parenthood in traditional type、transitional type or involvement.
