本文是提出一新型雙搖臂式無段可變正時與升程汽門機構,並以實體機車引擎之機件構造加以組合修改作初步設計。將傳統汽門機構之單搖臂改良成一組有固定搖臂及調整搖臂之搖臂組;固定搖臂中有滑溝槽,調整搖臂中有調整溝槽。將固定單搖臂之固定軸改良為外徑上有調整凸件的可變控制軸,並新設置一第二搖臂,藉此當可變控制軸在軸向移動時,調整凸件在調整溝槽中移動,進而調整搖臂下擺角度變化,使之在第二搖臂之弧面上作無效運動與有效推頂兩種基本動作,使第二搖臂推頂汽門閥組,達到不同的高低汽門升程變換。而在可變正時的功能上,本機構採用與一般常見的方式完成,亦即將凸輪軸上裝置一組轉角器作相位變化,針對所設計之可變汽門機構做相關機件之汽門升程圖示展現並論述其優缺點並完成初步設計。本機構除了能完成一般可變汽門正時系統所能達到的功能並且期待能完全取代節氣門的功能,最終能大大提升引擎的性能與效率。
