航空聯盟於亞太機場佈局分析

Analysis of the Network Development of Global Airline Alliance in the Asia-Pacific Region

摘要


本研究係探討航空聯盟於亞太地區之發展現況,透過Innovata database所提供之2004、2008、2012及2015等四個年度的定期客運航班及航點資料,針對航空聯盟在33座亞太機場佈局進行分析,並運用集群分析和航網現況分析,藉以瞭解聯盟與機場之相關性以及聯盟在亞太地區加強佈局後,是否對機場連結性和其競爭力造成影響。 本研究結果發現,倘國籍航空公司加入航空聯盟後,其主要營運機場大多會成為該聯盟具有相對優勢地位之機場。由此可見,國籍航空公司與機場是具有密不可分的關係,因此國籍航空公司擁有越綿密的航網及更多的航點,機場亦會有較大之航網及連結性,進而影響機場的競爭力。 又航空聯盟在亞太地區之航網本身即是由各國籍航空公司之航網所集結而成,因此,國籍航空公司加入航空聯盟,確實會在亞太機場中提供較多班次與航點選擇,使得該機場有較高之連結性,較具有發展成區域樞紐機場之條件。尤其是以較具有強大航網之國籍航空公司加入聯盟後,其主要營運機場,通常有機會成為區域內較具有競爭優勢之機場。而國籍航空公司規模較小或航網較為有限者,其所屬機場通常競爭優勢較不明顯,多以區域內之航線為主,成為區域型機場,輔助樞紐機場在該區域內之航網佈局。 整體而言,航空聯盟對於機場連結性和其航網確實有其效益,惟各機場在先天地理位置條件、後天營運狀況及國籍航空公司之強弱等因素,並非所有機場皆具備成為區域樞紐機場之條件。 研究結果發現,三大聯盟在亞太地區之佈局重點略有不同,各所擅長。再者,或許係因聯盟在亞太地區之發展已愈趨成熟,新加入聯盟之成員僅補齊零星航點,航網互補程度不若以往,惟不可否認,其對聯盟航網仍具有延伸效果,亦提供較多班次供消費者選擇,達成強化航網之效益。 本研究根據上述研究發現,對於未來研究者提出些許建議,以茲參考。

The aim of this research is to understand the network development of global airline alliance in the Asia-Pacific region. This study uses Innovata flight schedule data covering year 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2015 to analyze the network development of airline alliance in the 33 selected Asia-Pacific airports. Besides, this research also uses cluster analysis and current situation analysis in order to realize the relationship between airline alliance and airports and the effect of the network development of airline alliance on the airports. The result of our analysis shows that if national carrier has great network and connectivity performance, the airport’s network and connectivity will also be benefit from that. In addition, the network of airline alliance in the Asia-Pacific region is based on the national carrier’s network. Therefore, if national carrier joins airline alliance, it will strengthen the network and connectivity of the airport. And that airport will have much greater potential to become the regional hub airport. The result also indicates that the network development of global airline alliance in the Asia-Pacific region is quite different. Furthermore, the network development of global airline alliance in the Asia-Pacific region is getting mature. New alliance members only increase few destinations. It shows that the marginal utility of network development is decreasing. However, it still offers some benefits on the network development.
