This study is draw on Hsu-Ren-Siou’s southeast Asia adventures in literature. Hsu-Ren-Siou went into the indigenous tribes of southeast Asia, had a cross culture dialogue with them. Therefore, he suggested that the conflicts among city/tribe, civilized/savage, life/death, illustrated that the modernization might against the civilization, and the savage of tribes might be civilized. Hsu-Ren-Siou also had a great concern on the Chinese who live in southeast Asia. He depicted about how they adjust to a foreign country and their status quo. Furthermore, his narrative of the landscape in southeast Asia, not only wrote it with detailed documenting, but also bring out the thinking of ecological environment, including issues like sustainable development of Tropical rainforest, and protection of biodiversity. Hsu-Ren-Siou showed the attitude of decentralization, and pleaded for mother nature through writing. He provided an overview of sustainability, human-well-being and earth’s carrying capacity.
