This Study primarily investigates the relationship between the teaching styles of the information teachers and the satisfaction degrees of senior learners, in order to understand the teaching styles of information teachers who teach seniors how to use consumer electronics (especially computers and smart phones), and the satisfaction of the senior learners on the courses. Its result can be referenced to help the promotion of information systems education for the seniors. This study adopts the questionnaire method to collect empirical data with two questionnaires: one on the teaching styles of information teachers and the other on the satisfaction of the learners for taking the courses to use consumer electronics. The data obtained from the questionnaires are arranged, organized and analyzed with statistics. After examination and analysis, the result then is concluded and presented with corresponding suggestions. The number of valid samples of this study is 329. The conclusion drawn from the statistical analysis is as the following: I. The teaching styles for seniors to learn how to use consumer electronic devices are based the most highly on student-centered approach and the least on teacher-centered approach. II. The satisfaction of the senior learners on the courses of using consumer electronic devices marks the highest on the “teaching by teachers.” III. The male senior learners tend to consider the seniors’ information teachers to be the teacher-centered teaching styles. IV. The senior learners of metropolitan areas and municipalities show higher satisfaction than those in rural areas for the learning of these courses. V. The result shows positive correlation between the teaching styles for the seniors and the satisfaction of learners.
