In the continuous development of the national economy, public constructions are playing the role of a locomotive. Whether safety and health management can be effectively implemented affects the occurrence and prevention of occupational accidents. According to government-initiated labor inspection and related studies, managerial negligence and laborer’s mistake or inadvertence are human factors of occupational hazards. Safety and health management is the best method that can avoid such hazards. This study used the CR2 section in Kaohsiung Rapid Transit System as an example to explore the current safety and health management in this public construction. Data collected from a questionnaire on the current situation and system of the safety and health management in the CR2 section were integrated with theories related to safety and health management to explore safety and health management strategies, construction safety and hazard management, policy execution, assessment and improvement, and plan and implementation, so as to achieve the goal of hazard prevention and control.
