The main purpose of the study was to explore the effects of practicing a series of Music Care on the social interaction of young children with multiple disabilities; thus, it developed suitable therapeutic models for various degrees of multiple disabilities children. For this purpose, the study used the collaborative action method on six multiple disabilities children as participants treating with Music Care in a 16-month term. Their efficacy was assessed through Individualized Education Program before and after the therapy. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected to make the study complete and objective. Quantitative data included the frequency distribution of social interaction efficacy counted by observers, as well as the T-tests before and after the social interaction learning efficacy assessments of Individualized Education Program. Qualitative data included reflective writings from observers, journaling of collaborative action observers, team-reflection of collaborative action observers, focus group interviews and event studies. A holistic approach of collecting information has been used to completely cover the research finding. In conclusion, the following results were discovered: (1) moderate multiple disabilities children were suitable for developmental team music therapy; (2) orthopedic impaired multiple disabilities children were suitable with behavioral group music therapy; (3) sever multiple disabilities children were better treated with humanistic music therapy, regardless of any music style but preferably with mono-instrumental media. A specific proposal was developed according to the results of this study, providing reference for relating personnel, organization and future researchers.
