操作參數對質子交換膜燃料電池PAHs排放之影響

Effect of operational parameters on the emission of PAHs from PEM Fuel Cells

摘要


氫-氧質子交換膜燃料電池之商業化進展快速,然而其碳材組件,常含有或吸附有機污染物,如多環芳香烴(polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, PAHs),可能在燃料電池運作時,隨尾氣排放,影響空氣品質。因此,本研究主要探討該型燃料電池在不同操作參數運作下,尾氣PAHs之排放特徵。 研究結果顯示在反應氣體(陽極-氫氣、陰極-氧氣)流量20 ~ 200 ml/min範圍中,陽極尾氣排放以100 ml/min有最高總PAHs濃度及毒性當量BaPeq(分別為13.64±0.67 μg/m3及310.50±16.10 ng/m3);陰極尾氣排放總PAHs濃度及毒性當量BaPeq濃度亦以100 ml/min者最高(分別為14.48±0.71 μg/m3及518.88±30.34 ng/m3)。陰極排放之氣相及水相PAHs濃度皆大於陽極。當電池操作溫度由65 ℃升至90 ℃時,陰陽兩極排放之氣相及水相總PAHs濃度均隨之增加。在固定流量下,兩極尾氣排放之氣相及水相總PAHs及毒性當量BaPeq濃度會隨著採樣時間的增加而減少。所測試之三種商業化膜電極組(E-TEK、SGL及GORE)中,兩極尾氣排放之氣相總PAHs以GORE最高,水相總PAHs則以SGL最高。

H2-O2 proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells (PEMFCs) are expected to be commercialized in the near future. However, the carbon materials/components used in H2-O2 PEMFCs possibly contain/adsorb polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) that probably may desorb and be emitted from PEMFCs off-gases during operation to influence air quality. Therefore, this study investigated the effect of operational parameters on the emission of PAHs from a single PEMFC. The results show that 100 ml/min exhibited the highest anode and cathode gas-phase total-PAHs 13.64 ± 0.67 μg/m3 with corresponding total-BaPeq 310.50 ± 16.10 ng/m3 and 14.48±0.71 μg/m3 with corresponding total-BaPeq 518.88±30.34 ng/m3, respectively, among the flow rates from 20 to 200 ml/min. The emissions of gas/liquid phase total-PAHs and total-BaPeq were higher for the cathode than for the anode. When the cell operational temperature rose from 65 to 90 ℃, both electrodes emitted more gas/liquid phase total-PAHs. At a constant flowrate, the electrode emissions of gas/liquid phase total-PAHs and total-BaPeq decreased with increasing sampling time. Among the tested commercialized membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) (E-TEK, SGL, and GORE), the GORE and SGL ones emitted the highest gaseous and aqueous PAHs, respectively.
