It is a threat to the life and property of the tribal people that the natural disasters occurred in mountain areas of Taiwan. In this study, we used the correlation questionnaire to investigate the elementary disaster prevention capability of four taiwanese tribal villages L’olu, Tgbin, M’ihu and B’anux tribal villages. The questionnaire had three levels, the phase level, the question level and the performance level to show the performance of the questionnaire goal effectively. The questionnaire results showed that people who live in L’olu tribal villages had the best complete knowledge of disaster prevention among the four tribes. Their performance of the questionnaire goal reached 92.72%. The performance of the questionnaire goal of Tgbin, M’ihu and B’anux tribal villages people were 90.92%, 87.67%, and 86.40% respectively. Otherwise, L’olu tribal villages has its own disaster prevention team but the people did’t reach a consensus on disaster prevention. The team’s disaster prevention group performance of the questionnaire goal was 84.1%. The common people tended to carry on their self-help in the quite safe area and their performance of the questionnaire goal was 92.72%.
