本研究旨在探討市場動態性對動態創新能力與長期績效之關係。相關研究問題如下:第一,動態創新能力該如何具體衡量?第二,動態創新能力是否與公司長期績效有關?第三,市場動態性是否會對動態創新能力與長期績效關係產生影響?本文採用多重個案比較法,研究對象選定宏碁與華碩兩家廠商,為快速市場動態性之代表;散熱風扇產業選定建準及奇鋐兩家廠商,為穩定市場動態性之代表,蒐集2001-2010年之次級資料,以公開資訊的客觀數據為主,透過嚴謹的研究方式,建立實證研究的有效性。本研究採行Teece et al. (1997)論點為理論基礎,以動態創新能力作為替代性衡量指標,發展明確指標,以增進理論的適用性及補足實證研究上的缺口。本研究利用Patent Guider 2008專利分析軟體蒐集四家公司近十年來台灣、美國、歐洲、日本等地區之專利總數,具體衡量「定位」、「程序」、「路徑」三種構面,觀察不同產業別的動態創新能力之差異性。研究結果顯示:(1)市場動態性對於動態創新能力與長期績效具有調節效果;(2)在高科技產業中,動態創新能力與其績效間關係具顯著正向影響,而傳統產業則較不顯著。本研究依據研究結果建議高科技產業應具備動態創新能力,其能力應配合動態市場調整並提升,以保持競爭優勢。
The purpose of this study is to examine how market dynamism moderate the relationship between dynamic innovation capabilities and the long-term performance. The issues addressed in this research are as follows: First, how to measure dynamic innovation capabilities? Second, do dynamic innovation capabilities relate to the long-term performance of companies? Third, will market dynamism moderate the relationship between dynamic innovation capabilities and the long-term performance of companies? Acer and Asus were chosen from computer industries as the representatives of the high-velocity dynamism markets. Sunon and Asia Vital Components Co. were chosen from cooling fan industries as the representatives of the normal dynamism markets. The data for this study are collected through public information from 2001 to 2010. Through rigorous methodology help enhance validity of this research. Finally the theory of Teece et al. is taken as the basis of this research. The innovation capabilities are selected as an alternative index of dynamic capabilities. This study will promote the applicability of the theories. The patent analysis software "Patent Guider 2008" is used to gather the total patent numbers in the recent ten years in Taiwan, America, Europe, and Japan in order to measure the position, the process, and the path of three aspects in the case. After analysis, the results of this research show: First, the market dynamism moderate the relationship between the dynamic innovation capabilities and long-term performance of companies. Second, in the high-tech industry, there is a significant positive effect between dynamic innovation capabilities and its performance while the traditional industries show less effect. According to the results, this research suggests that companies in the high-tech industry should have high dynamic innovation capabilities, and their competencies more rapid change with the dynamicsm market to sustain a competitive advantage.
