Preventive maintenance is an important policy for efficient industrial system. If no preventive maintenance was executed and the equipment is replaced until it breakdown, then the company will bear huge losses. When the lifetime distribution of machinery or equipment was given and based on the stochastic process and renewal theorem, we can construct a mathematical programming model to search for an optimal preventive interval then minimize the total expected cost. The total cost includes preventive cost and maintenance or renewal cost. In this paper, we design a numerical integral program to search for the optimal solution. Furthermore, the sensitivity analysis was taken to realize the influence of variant parameters. Finally, nine conclusions are drawn for future studies and practical applications.
