This study intends to explore the relation between banks revenue diversification and performance through finance crisis and financial liberalization. Our sample period is over 1998 and 2013. 57 countries are analyzed. Empirical results indicate that, first, bank performance can be improved through revenue diversification. Second, the relationships among revenue diversity, financial liberalization, and bank performances are multidimensional. Third, we find the revenue diversification negatively affects bank performance and increases bank risk under a financial crisis.
