語音助理的性別提示對使用者感受與社會期許反應之探討

Effects of Voice Assistance's Gender Cues on User Perception and Social Desirability

摘要


隨著人工智慧的進步,生活中人類對於數位助理的應用越來越廣泛,並利用多種社交方式與電腦系統互動,而語音成為人類與電腦系統互動溝通的方式之一。語音助理除了有助於協助使用者,具性別提示的語音助理也是使用者更能融入產品互動情境的重要因素。過去研究指出當語音助理透過聲音提供性別提示時,使用者會產生類似人際互動中的社會認同現象,而對語音助理產生不同的形象整飾形況,進而影響使用者對助理的社會期許反應。因此本研究藉由奧茲巫師法進行實驗設計,針對語音助理的性別提示對使用者感受與社會期許反應之影響進行探索。以語音助理的性別提示為自變項,採受試者間設計,參與者將與不同語音助理進行對話後,語音助理以口頭方式提出社會期許反應問項,參與者直接回應;完成後再進行聲音印象與互動感受問卷的填寫。在本研究中使用球體藍芽喇叭作為語音助理之載體,使用賽微語音合成TTS系統將文字稿分別轉為男性與女性之合成語音,作為語音助理之性別提示。本研究招募年齡介於18歲至35歲之間的參與者80名(男女各半),平均分配於四種實驗條件下:(A)男性語音助理對男性參與者;(B)男性語音助理對女性參與者;(C)女性語音助理對男性參與者;(D)男性語音助理對女性參與者。研究發現:(1)參與者對於男性語音助理的形象整飾程度比女性語音助理高,且認為女性語音助理的聲音感受較友好;(2)女性參與者認為比起男性語音助理,女性語音助理的聲音感受較友好、善良;(3)以參與者的年齡層來說,對於語音助理的整體感受中,26-30歲的參與者比起21-25歲的參與者認為語音助理在互動過程中是更具有能力的。最後,本文根據實驗分析結果,對未來語音助理設計時有關助理的性別提示的語音設定提出建議。

With the progress of artificial intelligence, the application of intelligent personal assistant are widely used in our life, and people communicate with the computer system these through a variety of social means. The voice function becomes one of the ways which human communication with the computer system. Voice Assistants not only can help users but also let users immerse in the product. Especially voice assistants with the gender highlight the impacts on users. Some studies have shown that voice assistants with different gender voice prompts will let users a different self-disclosure status according to user's cognitive social identification theory. Therefore, this study uses the topic as the main issue, the voice assistant with different gender’s cues for the experimental variables. Through a method of the Wizard of Oz, participants will interact with different gender of voice assistants and perform tasks. The verbal measurement of social desirability response by voice assistant, participants completed the study questionnaire after tasks. In this study, we give the role of voice assistant to speakers by the sphere Bluetooth speakers as voice assistant and text-to-speech (TTS) as the voice of the male and female. Participants were 80 people that male and female each accounted for half and participants were average distributed in four experimental conditions: (A) male voice assistant to male participant; (B) male voice assistant to female participant; (C) female voice assistant to male participant; (D) male voice assistant to female participant. The results of research are as follows: (1) participants have a higher degree of self-disclosure for female voice assistants than male voice assistants, and also regard that the voice of female voice assistant feels more friendly; (2) comparing to male voice assistant, female participants think that the voice of the female voice assistant feel more friendly and kind-hearted; (3) in the age of participants, the 26-30 years old of participants perceive that the voice assistant is more capable than the 21-25 years old of participants in the interactive process.
