『幽暗意識』-從超現實數位影像創作探勘人性原罪

"Dark Consciousness"-Exploring the Original Sins of Human Nature through Surreal Digital Art

摘要


本創作研究以「幽暗意識」為出發點,透過宗教討論人性、揭示人性,以人性為切入點,收集中國思想與西方教義之間「罪」看法之差異,並以超現實風格表現人性深處的醜惡和黑暗,層層揭露出根植於人性中的弱點和醜陋,並運用數位影像處理引用西方宗教所撰出之七大人性惡行為主要創作主題,亦為七原罪,其分類為- 傲慢、妒忌、暴怒、懶惰、貪婪、貪食及色慾等,其七大創作主題為發想。 除了表現個人美學觀點與形式美感外,並收集中西方相關神學觀點文獻、藝術史與超現實風格軌跡等來作為創作依據與交叉研究,以及結合中世紀畫家波希(Bosch)之創作概念及20世紀超現實主義藝術家馬格利特(Magritte)、達利(Dali)與後現代數位影像藝術家李小鏡作品系列之表現手法,結合不同時代關於繪圖到影像之變化詮釋,對人性幽暗意識表現及人性七大原罪描述,運用其超現實表現手法於數位影像創作中,描述本創作自身對於人性幽暗意識的感受與想法。 人性題材一直是超現實主義表現中的靈魂媒介,將內心某部分藉由人性黑暗面講述事件,利用人性轉化與隱喻,表現內在意象,結合幻想、合成、切割、變形的圖象來詮釋人性。筆者認為超現實主義是一種很好發揮展現的風格,但其實深入創作過程中才發現,創作並非以形式為界定,創作是追求作品所傳達之深遠意義,即所謂自發性情感表達方式,及情緒符號的意義,這並非以工具技術達其效果,而是更多陳述內心的需要。如何表達出作品概念與符號學的探究是筆者後續研究探討之一。這些須經過時間與人生的歷練,觀察力、洞悉力,沈著的內在情感意識下,透過元素呈現,才能產生不凡的作品。

Taking "dark consciousness" as its starting point, this study relies on religious views of human nature to discuss the problem of human nature, examines differences in Chinese and Western views of "sin," and employs a surrealist style to express the ugliness and darkness in the depths of humanity. The study seeks to peel back the layers of human nature and reveal the weakness and ugliness that lurk beneath, and use digital image processing to invoke the seven deadly sins of Christianity. These Seven deadly sins—pride, envy, wrath, sloth, greed, gluttony, and lust—form the themes of the seven topics in this study. Apart from expressing personal artistic viewpoint and formal aesthetics, this study also collected literature on Eastern and Western theological, art history, and the development of surrealism as a basis for its creative undertakings and cross-comparison, and it further combines the artistic ideas of the late- Middle Ages painter Hieronymus Bosch with the expressive methods used in the work of the 20th century surrealist artists Magritte and Dali, and the post-modern digital graphic artist Daniel Lee. The study interprets the way images have changed during different periods, and portrays the dark consciousness of human nature and the seven original sins of humanity. It uses the method of surrealism in digital graphic art to express impressions and ideas concerning the dark consciousness at the heart of human nature. The subject of human nature has always been a central theme of surrealist art, and it depicts events through the dark side of human nature. Surrealist art expresses inner ideas through transformations and metaphors involving human nature, and employs imagined, synthesized, cut, and deformed images to interpret human nature. While the author feels surrealism is a highly effective and expressive style, it took actual immersion in the creative process before the author discovered that art is not limited by forms; instead, art is the pursuit of a work's deepest significance, and a spontaneous, emotional expressive style and emotional symbolism and meaning cannot be achieved using utilitarian techniques, but instead requires an account of one's inner life. The author further plans to investigate how to express a work's concept and perform semiotic exploration in the future. An extraordinary work can be created only through the use of representative elements relying on experience of time and life, powers of observation, insight, and one's deep emotions and consciousness.
