家長觀點與幼兒表徵遊戲之中文語言溝通能力研究- 以雙語班與半美班個案為例

摘要


本研究之主要目的在探究接受不同美語教學方式之幼兒在進行表徵遊戲時的語言溝通情況,並瞭解家長對於幼兒學習美語的態度。研究方式採用質性研究與量化研究並行的方式,以台中市某私立幼稚園雙語班及半日全美班之家長、教師及幼兒為主要研究對象,以實地觀察並配合敘述性統計之問卷、語文檢核表、角落時間記錄表等文件資料。 以下為本研究所得之結果: 一、半美班家長似乎比雙語班家長更認同提早學習美語之價值,但皆不認同學習美語會帶給幼兒負面之影響;但半美班家長似乎較重視外師的學歷與相關背景,針對一般教師需具備的能力則是兩班家長皆相當重視。 二、雙語班教師較著重在「文字的類型」,而半日全美班教師則著重在「讀 寫能力與歡愉」、「對於書寫文字的知識」、「語音察覺」等部份。 三、雙語班妮妮呈現出「善於表達其思想」、「語言跟從之高配合度」、「重視禮儀的語言溝通」,以及「勇於表達捍衛自我權益」等四項特色;半美班菲菲則呈現出「語言豐富且創意十足」、「語氣專制且強勢」、「善用溝通且喜好發問」等三項特色。 最後,依據研究發現提出相關的建議,以提供家長、教師及未來研究方向之參考。 關鍵詞:雙語班、半日全美班、語言溝通、表徵遊戲、家長觀點

The purposes of this study are to investigate how two children:Nini and Fifi from two types of classes: bilingual and half-day English classes communicate with peers in symbolic play, and their parents’ attitudes toward English learning in early years. The researcher used qualitative and quantitative research methods, including: field observations, interviews, questionnaires, and language checklists. The research participants include child from the bilingual classes and half-day classes, and their parents and teachers. The results of this study are stated as follows: 1. Parents whose children in half-day English class seem to more agree with early English learning than Bilingual class’ parents, but neither agree that early English learning has negative impacts on children. However, parents whose children in half-day English class seem to put more emphases on teacher qualification and background. Both two groups of parents think the teachers’ general ability is important. 2. As to the classroom environment, the bilingual class teacher emphasizes “tape of text”. On the other hand, the half-day English Class teacher emphasizes “the power and pleasure of literacy”, “knowledge of print”, and “phonological awareness”. 3. Nini, the one in bilingual class, showed four characteristics while playing, including: an expert of expressing thoughts, good communications with peers, showing respect while communicating with peers, and an exhibition of courage to defend self-rights and interests”. Fifi, the one in half-day English class, showed three characteristics: creative and rich language expression, communication with authoritative tone, and make the best use of communication to satisfy curiosity. Finally, some suggestions for parents, teacher, and future research are proposed. Key words: Bilingual class, Half-day English class, Language communication, symbolic play, Parents’ perspectives
