The excessive development of the city is at the expense of Nature, and results in the place-spirit loss of a particular region. In order to correct this error, the author of the Youth Hotel Design proposes to adopt the selected 27 patterns from Alexander Christopher’s A Pattern Language── Towns•Buildings•Construction, and uses these patterns to serve as the design concepts as well as the criteria of determining whether the design is successful or not. In doing so, the author hopes to successfully create a brand-new hotel design in which the issues such as Nature, place-spirit, the surrounding texture of the site, social interactions and architecture are integrated and successfully resolved.
