HuiSun Forest is the largest virgin forest of all national forest recreation areas in Taiwan. HuiSun covers an area of 7,477 hectares with an altitude of 2,419 meters; nearly 80% of the original forest area is undeveloped. With abundant natural resources, HuiSun Forest serves as a tourist site that provides both recreational and educational purposes, thus worthy of research and promotion in forest ecotourism. In this study, visitors of HuiSun Forest participate in the research aimed at analyzing their ecotourism attitude and enduring involvement in reference to their demographic characteristics. Results from this study will provide suggestions for future sightseeing, forest management and sustainable development. 403 questionnaires were administered with a total of 396 valid questionnaires among the tourists, it shows that the numbers of males and females are equal (standard deviation is 1%); the majority ages of the tourists are age 21-30; the educational level is mostly on university; most tourist are students (about 40.4%); and most of their monthly income is lass them NT$20.000 the frequency of the tourist participation is 2-3 times. Collected for data analysis; the results are as follows: 1. Of all aspects in T-test, there is significant difference only in the locus of control. In the data analysis of the locus of control, male visitors tend to stick to individual motivation while female visitors lean towards the dominant peer. 2. There is also significant relevance in the aspects of enduring involvement and demographic characteristics as well as enduring involvement and ecotourism attitude. That is, the more enduring involvement visitors have, the more positive their ecotourism attitude. However, the aspect of the locus of control showed no significant relevance in all the aspects of eco-tourism attitude. The study was conducted through random sample quantitative research and analysis of questionnaires. It is hoped that deeper understanding of relations between demographic characteristics and ecotourism attitude of visitors will help provide better assessment in forest ecotourism development and management.
