From ancient times, it has been found that the presentation of paper-cutting techniques is not limited to paper, but also can be found on leather and cloth. However, its main purpose is to be used for praying and blessing, so its cultural meaning is greater than art itself, and also because of cultural significance, due to this reason, paper-cutting techniques are mostly used for the cultural level of the design. This research explores the origin of paper-cut art, technique and the using of paper-cut on poster by literature study, and applies the results of the study to the case analysis to get a more accurate conclusion. In the aspect of design, this research three paper-cut posters series are planned: (1) Irony New year paper-cut, (2) Poker paper-cut, (3) Gestalt paper-cut, using the techniques of eastern and western paper-cutting and related cultural background, through the transformation of digital software, used in poster design, and through the paper-cut image to convey the meaning behind the poster. In the end, making the conclusions are focused on the design of digital paper-cut for poster design communication. In the final part is the conclusion of the digital paper-cut used in the poster. We expected paper-cut art in addition to continue to maintain its own cultural characteristics, and also can be combine with the new creative elements, let this art can been shown by its’ own diversification side, and continue to pass on.
