本文主要在探討次級房貸風暴前後台灣銀行業之經營績效,利用資料包絡分析法(Data Envelopment Analysis, DEA),以台灣地區22家商業銀行為研究對象,資料期間為西元2004年至2008年共五年之資料,合計110筆樣本為觀察值進行實證研究。 實證分析結果發現,就個別銀行技術效率及規模效率而言,皆以台北富邦銀行及合作金庫銀行表現最好,在五年樣本期間中其效率值均為1。在個別銀行技術效率方面,國泰世華銀行及高雄銀行等,在樣本期間中表現也不差。此外,大部份銀行,在次級房貸風暴發生後之效率值明顯較次級房貸風暴前為差,此有待經營者加強改進。然仍有部份銀行次級房貸風暴後之技術效率,相較於次級房貸風暴前不降反升,究其原因,主要係這些銀行之產出面有著顯著的成長。因此,次級房貸風暴發生後,銀行業在提升技術效率方面,就開源節流言,開源益顯重要,各銀行要如何拓展各項業務,爭取業績,為強化其經營績效之良策,而不是一昧地從節流方面之縮編及裁員策略中下手。
This study discusses about the Taiwan banks performance around the subprime storm by the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). Our observed 110sample of 22commercial banks qusrterly data from 2004 to 2008material. In the results, the efficiency value is one identified the performance of the Fubon Financial Bank and Cooperative Bank are efficiency. In the technological efficiency, the performance of the Cathay United Bank and Bank of Kaohsiung are not bad.Most of the banks, decreased their efficiency value after subprime storm. This result, we suggests the manager to improve their performance. However, some of the banks increased their efficience after subprime storm. Beacause the output of these are significant growing. Thus, after the subprime storm, the banks should promote their sales for the increasing technological efficience, moreover, not to reduce the staff and the scale of the banks.
