圓形造形之竹編設計與應用

摘要

台灣竹類資源豐富，在竹的相關用途十分廣泛，而竹編則屬於竹材加工技術的特色之一。竹編工藝包括一般具產業化的實用性，及現今具美術賞析的純粹性，至目前工藝與設計的跨界與合作亦成趨勢，竹編工藝隨著時代潮流的外在形塑，產生內在意義的流變，而呈現不同的表現形式。本研究針對竹編工藝在圓形造形的內在含意（文化意識、圓的情感象徵等），與外在形式（材質特性、圓形造形結構），透過文獻收集探討其造物意涵，並以工藝造形原理說明兩者之間的關連性，亦略探竹編造形在設計變異中的現況與問題，並思索傳統材質、技藝的延續，以及對歷史、傳統文化的關照，期盼保持原初的工藝性特色並為繼續創新而努力。

創作主題方面，本研究運用竹編工藝中竹篾具有彎曲、曲繞等特質之物理形態為發展，採用《圓》的造形為設計結構主軸，以組件的組合變化方式進行具有圓形形態之竹編設計創作，並以同心圓模式呈現，強調《團圓》為一核心概念，選定臺灣重要節日─春節為設計作品發想，象徵人與人之間的團聚及情感維繋，有一種回歸根本的企盼。而為傳達核心凝聚的團圓之意，亦為傳達核心凝聚的團圓之意。以期藉由竹編工藝創作設計，將其特色及傳統工藝之物用思維轉化應用到當代生活中。

In Taiwan there is an abundant resource of bamboo. The related usage of bamboo is extensive and bamboo weaving is one of the special techniques. Hence, bamboo weaving craft contains the industrial function and the purity of art appreciation of nowadays. The cross-disciplinary of craft and design become the current trend. The external shaping of bamboo weaving has transformed over time, which leads to the change of its inner meaning and various expressive styles. In this study, the research and design focuses on exploring the implications of circular form (including cultural awareness, the emotional symbol of circle) and the external form (including material properties, circular shape structure) of bamboo weaving craft. All the above studies are conducted to maintain its traditional characteristic and further the creative development.

In the series of bamboo weaving design of this study, circular form is the main concept and core structure. With the application of various bamboo strips weaving techniques, a concentric circles model is presented, emphasizing the “Reunion” which is the core concept and the main theme in Chinese New Year Festival. Also, a concentric circles model symbolizes the cohesive reunion of family and the longing to return to the roots. With creative bamboo weaving craft design, this thesis is intended to convey, transform, and apply the special functional thinking of traditional craft to contemporary life.
