Multiple channels are available for use in IEEE 802.11 and throughput of network can increase by using multiple channels than a single channel obviously. In this paper, we proposed a novel multi-channel MAC protocol that enables nodes under the constraint of one half duplex radio and without centralized knowledge of network by switching channels dynamically. In our CD-MAC protocol, it divides the fixed ATIM window into two phases. The first divided small window of the fixed-time interval is called Decide Channel Window (DCW) that is used for source and destination to decide which the second divided small window of the fixed-time interval in. The second divided small window of the fixed-time interval is called Exchange Packet Window (EPW) that is pair source and destination nodes compete to use the channel to transfer packets. By using this technique well, we can distribute pair source and destination nodes to compete data channel, thus collisions can be decreased hugely, and throughput can be increased. The simulation results show that our protocol successfully exploits that use bandwidth of multiple channels well and distribute pair nodes to achieve higher throughput.
