台灣中小企業國際化及產品多角化藉助策略聯盟對績效的影響

摘要


在台灣日益發展茁壯的國際市場中,研究中小企業(SME)影響變的十分重要,這份論文研究台灣中小企業如何利用國際化及產品多角化來擴張市場,並藉由策略聯盟的幫助達到公司營運績效。由於台灣特別的國際化及策略聯盟,這份論文同時研究同質及異質性,文化差異對國際化與營運績效的影響。同時也研究國際化與產品多角化對中小企業公司營運績效間的關係。實證結果顯示,單純的國際化策略並不能主要影響營運績效,產品多角化可以增進營運績效,並形成曲線關係,其中非相關產品多角化比相關產品多角化更能增進營運績效。並且如果產品多角化與國際化交互運用,其綜合策略對營運績效有曲線關係並呈下滑趨勢。而策略聯盟可扮演重要的輔助角色,與國際化結合能有效增進營運績效,然而過多的策略聯盟與產品多角化交互運用卻會降低營運績效。 論文最後結論並建議中小企業一個如何增進營運績效的模式,在如此全球競爭環境下,必須綜合採取國際化擴張與產品策略並重,並藉由適當策略聯盟來增進自有開發能力來增進營運績效。

With the growing trend of Taiwan international business, the research of the impact of multinational Enterprises (MNEs) becomes more important. This paper examines how Taiwan small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) utilize the internationalization and product strategy to expand their business growth associated with strategic alliance partners to reach a competitive level of firm’s performance. Due to Taiwan firms’ particular international and alliance strategy, this paper examines the different impact between homogeneity and heterogeneity of internationalization. This study also tests the relationship of product and international diversity on firm performance. The results show that single internationalization strategy can not significantly improve performance. Product diversification can improve performance with curvilinear relationship, while unrelated product diversification is more effective than related. With the interaction of internationalization, the hybrid strategy of internationalization and product diversification could decrease performance in curvilinear relationship. With the moderation of strategic alliance, internationalization becomes more effective on performance, while product diversification decrease the effect on performance. The paper ends up with a section on conclusion and implication for SMEs with a suggested model to improve performance by expanding global business and product offers with appropriate integration of strategic alliance network. The empirical findings contribute the trends and results for SMEs to leverage strategic alliance to extend their capability to improve its performance through internationalization and product diversity under the keen competition of global market.
