多段式感測區域結構對側拋式表面電漿共振光纖感測器靈敏度提升之研究

摘要


表面電漿共振原理被廣泛的應用在化學及生物的特性和分子量級的交互作用測量上。傳統的表面電漿共振感測技術擁有高的靈敏度、動態變化的即時測量、以及在生物感測上無須標地等優點。而光纖本身擁有體積小、成本低、並且和表面電漿共振理論相同架構。光纖式表面電漿共振感測器是十分值得研發的。 本文介紹一種新式的側拋式表面電漿共振光纖感測器,利用一次製程將二段感測區域以及一個連結區域的多段式結構整合於一段感測器上,以達到提升表面電漿共振訊號靈敏度並簡化製程之目的。研究中利用白光光源做光纖特性的量測,證明多段式結構確實可以放大表面電漿共振訊號靈敏度,並確定多段式結構各區域的最佳尺寸。另外使用690 nm波長的雷射光源量測濃度6 %到12 %,折射率在1.333到1.342之間的過氧化氫,結果發現相較於一段原始光纖,兩段式結構可以增強約1.5倍的反應靈敏度,未來可應用於檢測食物中漂白劑的殘留量。

The phenomenon of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is widely applied in the biological and chemical sensing for characterizing and quantifying biomolecular interactions. The traditional advantages of SPR detective method have high sensitive response, kinetic study in real-time, and label-free for biological sensing. Optical fiber sensor has the characteristics of small, low cost, and the same scheme on SPR. It is worthy to develop the optical fiber SPR sensor. A novel side-polished multimode fiber sensor based on SPR is presented in this paper. The multi-section structure composed of multi sensing section and a coupling section is fabricated on a sensor by single mask lithograph process to enhance the SPR effect and to simplify the fabrication process. In the experiment we used a white light (halogens light) source to carry out the measurements. The results showed that the multi-section structure can enhance and improve the measurement sensitivity and performance significantly, and the optimal dimension of the each sensing section of the structure is confirmed simultaneously. Besides, a laser diode operated at 690 nm wavelength as the light source is applied to measure hydrogen peroxide solutions with the concentration ranged from 6 % to 12 %, refractive index from 1.333 to 1.342. The results show that the two sensing sections structure of the side-polished optical fiber have almost 1.5 times sensitivity than the original optical fiber SPR sensor with single sensing section. The optical fiber SPR sensor we proposed enable a person to measure the residue of the bleaching agent in the food in the future.
