Ectopic eruption of the first permanent molar usually results in root resorption of the primary second molar and mesial tilting of the permanent molar. The article presented a case of ectopic eruption of the right maxillary first molar during routine radiographic examination. Using a modified Humphrey appliance as the correcting appliance, the ectopic eruption of the first molar had been successfully uprighted. Early treatment of ectopically erupting first molar is in favor of solving space problem.
