地圖設計之色彩應用探討

摘要

由於具有提高可讀性、增強形底關係及引發閱圖興趣的種種優點，色彩在地圖設計上始終佔有重要地位。從過去文獻中發現，地圖色彩設計多偏重在面量圖的研究，尤其連續對比及同時對比一直是探討的重心，而這些現象其實可經由三原色說及相對色學說來加以解釋。近年來，螢幕逐漸取代圖紙，色彩設計也突破早期不採用光譜色系的規矩，同時由亮到暗的色彩表示由低量到高量的假設也被推翻，可見地圖色彩包括色彩內涵仍有許多探討空間。

There are many functions of color in mapping. The use of color can be useful in the development of figure and ground organization on the maps. Also, the color is an effective attention-getter and will affect the legibility. From the literature, the successive contrast and simultaneous contrast on choropleth maps has been described repeatedly, while Trichromatic Theory and Opponent Color Theory are the common approach to interpret the contrast phenomena. Recently, with the popular of computers, the general consensus that darker symbols represent areas of greater data magnitudes is revised on non-print media. There are still have more topic of color application and color connotations on maps could be considered and discussed.
