摘要

在臨終的場域裡，護理人員擔負著繁重的身體照顧，卻也藉此迴避面對病患的靈性。由於病患面對死亡的迫近，在受苦的世界中，靈性上承受著恐懼、不安、沒有希望種種靈性上的困擾。如果以一般傳統醫療「解決問題」的模式，站在健康、專業、醫療的立基點上，是無法貼近病患死亡焦慮的心靈，因此護理人員與臨終病患的心靈是一種「靈性隔絕」的狀態；如果轉換觀點，其實死亡是我們每個人的宿命，護理人員與病患其實都是在面對自身的死亡，藉由共同站在死亡的立基點上，我們與病患一樣感到無助、一樣的不知所措，與病患是共處在「靈性共振」的頻率上，而臨終處境下的生命照顧，即是透過護病的靈性遭逢，讓護理人員撫慰病患的心靈，一起走過生命的艱難處。

In terminal illness ward, nurse loads herself with intensive physical care intervention by which she is actually trying to avoid facing the spirituality themes with the patient. In the suffering abysmal, with death coming closer and closer, terminal patient is tortured form various spiritual distresses such as fear, anxiety, hopelessness, etc. With conventional medical care mode of “problem solving”, the nurse is on a ground of her healthy world and based on professional, medical care. It is impossible to reach the patient’s world immersed in dying anxiety. The nurse and terminal patient are thus both in a state of “spiritual isolation”. With a transformed viewpoint, however, death is the destiny of all human being. Nurse is in the same time facing her own death just as the patient. With this common ground of death as the standing point, we are as hopeless and anxious about death as the patient. We are thus tuned to a frequency of “spiritual resonance” with the patient. The life care at terminal stage is that, through the nurse-patient encounter, the nurse soothes and accompanies the patient walking through the hard time.
