背景：鼻音測量法是個客觀的方法來評估鼻共鳴，但是它尚未被廣泛應用在鼻病病患來評估他們的鼻共鳴功能。事實上，它的有效度及可應用性在文獻也少被探討。 方法：收集經語言治療師檢查認為鼻共鳴為正常的正常年輕人，他們各接受1次噴藥前及噴藥後的鼻音測量及聲反射鼻量計檢查。在完成第一次鼻音測量法及聲反射鼻量計檢查後，噴灑3%麻黃素溶液於兩側鼻腔內，15分鐘後再進行第二次語言治療師評估及噴藥後的鼻音測量法及聲反射鼻量計檢查。 結果：35名鼻腔共鳴正常的正常輕人在噴灑3%麻黃素溶液後，4名受測者之下鼻甲前端截面積並未增加而另1名受測者鼻音被語言治療師檢查認為過重，這5名受測者被排除在本研究之外。其餘30名合格受測者的平均鼻音共鳴評值在韻母噴藥前為23.19%，噴藥後為27.27%；在鼻音聲－韻母組合噴藥前為65.19%，噴藥後為71.15%；在鼻音句噴藥前為57.93%，噴藥後為66.06%；在數1-10噴藥前為18.67%，噴藥後為21.49%。噴藥後，鼻音共鳴評值在這些語言測試句有顯著的增加。其他語言測試句則無顯著差別。 結論：鼻音測量法是一個較客觀評估鼻腔共鳴的方法，但它的準確性及可應用性需進一步加以研究。

BACKGROUND: Nasometry provides an objective assessment of nasal resonance, but has not bee widely employed in patients with nasal disorders for evaluation of their nasal resonance. Additionally, its efficacy and applicability have rarely been discussed in the literature. METHODS: Normal young subjects considered to have normal resonance after speech pathologist assessment were collected. Each subject was examined with nasometry and acoustic rhinometry before and 15 minutes after administration of a 3% ephedrine solution spray to both nasal cavities. RESULTS: In the 35 normal subjects with normal resonance, the cross-sectional area over the anterior end of the inferior turbinate was not increased in four subjects after spray application, and another one was assessed as hypernasal by a speech pathologist. These five subjects were excluded from the study. The mean nasalance scores of the 30 eliegible subjects before and after spray use were 23.19% and 27.27% for vowels, 65.19% and 71.15% for nasal consonant-vowel combination, 15.87% and 16.71% for labiodental fricative sentences, 57.93% and 66.06% for nasal sentences, and 18.67% and 21.49% for connected number counting. Nasalance scores were significantly increased after spray use for these speech stimuli, but were not significantly different for other speech stimuli. CONCLUSIONS: Nasometry is an objective method for evaluating nasal resonance but further study is required to determine its accuracy and clinical applicability.
