Two cases of intra-abdominal testis are presented with each had delayed detection and complications. The first patient was a 22-year-old with a left intra-abdominal testis. Before the operation the testis detected by sonography and computerized tomography was seen adjacent to the bladder. Orchiectomy was performed because of testicular torsion. The second patient was a 35-year-old married man with bilateral intra-abdominal testes and infertility. A movable mass was palpated at the right lower abdomen during physical examination. Bilateral orchiectomy was done. Pathology revealedx a seminoma on the right testis and atrophic change on the left. The associasted complications in these two cases indicate the importance of early detection and treatment of intra-abdominal testis. Three cases of retrocaval ureter are reported: One 71-year-old man had had a long preoperative history of right renal stone. One 37-year-old man had right renal and upper ureteral stone associated with hydronephrosis. A 15-year-old boy was found to have right hydronephrossi on screening abdominal sonography. The diagnoses of two cases were made pre-operatively by intravenous urography, retrograde pyelography and computed tomography. Each patient received surgical treatment, with good result. The diagnosis, treatment options and prognosis in cases of retrocaval ureter were discussed and relevant literature, reviewed.
