摘要

吳晟的鄉土散文誕生於台灣政治、社會情勢劇烈震盪的七、八○年代之交，對於長期以詩作表達關懷土地、社會的他而言，精鍊的詩語已無法暢快抒發所思、所感，因而轉換寫作文體，改以散文為主要創作形式。本文即以他在九○年代之前的散文作品為探討對象，論述社會的變遷與他散文書寫之間的關係，並探討其創作觀與作品的美學特質，以評價其作品於台灣散文發展史上的地位。

Wu Cheng's regional prose was born between the end of the 1970s and the beginning of the 1980s when the politics and the social situation were changed strongly in Taiwan. Because he couldn't express his thinkings and feelings toward the changes of the politics and the social situation in Taiwan with the refined poetic language, he used the prose as his mainly forms of creating. The purpose of this paper is that discussing Wu Cheng's prose between 1979 and 1989 and exploring the relations between the changes of the social and his works. Furthermore, discussing Wu Cheng's viewpoint of prose writing and the aesthetics characteristic of his works to evaluate the status of his creations in the history of the development of Taiwan prose.
