The purposes of the study are to explore the cancer patients’ meaning of life as well as their effecting factors. The in-depth interview was conducted with 16 patients. Data analysis followed the open-coding system. The research findings are presented in three areas; The first part is the content of life’s meaning which further is divided into the meaning of life, the reasons to live, the goal of life, the meaning of suffering, and the meaning of death. The second part of finding refers to the change of life meaning after getting sick. It contains changes in the value system and their attitudes toward life. The third part explores the factors which influencing the meaning of life. Results are discussed and suggestions are provided which counselors and hospice staffs carry out for enhancing the level of cancer patients’ meaning of life.
