The objective of this study was to develop a pictorial-thematic situation test to evaluate communication process between parents and children at primary school stage. Thematic Situation Test, one of situational projection tests, is a first try in this research area. This test includes 16 pictorial-thematic situations and associated situational selections. This test is scored by pairs to examine recognition consistence for parent-child communication. It requires approximately 20 minutes to finish the whole test. 624 pairs of parents and children were selected as valid samples for testing of test reliability and validity. Results showed that the Cronbach alpha coefficient was .68, test-retest reliability within two weeks was .80, and criteria-related validity was .70. Finally, normalized T score norms and percentile ranks for total subjects were also constructed.
