This paper explains basic concepts of hermeneutics and the main contents of pedagogical hermeneutics. After describing hermeneutics as a discipline studying the understanding and explanation of meaning, and outlining its historical development, the paper discusses Heidegger's hermeneutical turn, Gadamer's philosophical hermeneutics, and Ricoeur's phenomenological hermeneutics. Next, hermeneutical research in pedagogics and its principles of explanation, as well as the fields of research and approaches of pedagogical hermeneutics are explained. Subsequently, the paper expounds the understanding of history of pedagogics, and the understanding of teacher-student communication. The conclusion points out the six qualities and three turns of pedagogics, and stresses that the teacher not only should try to understand the self-world of the student, but also should instruct the student how to expand his horizon of understanding, in order to generate a virtual educational dialogue and realize the aims of educational activities.
