本研究調查289位女大學生,檢測電視收視時間、身體質量指數、自尊感、和內化社會理想體型對於身材不滿意度和減肥動力的影響。研究結果發現,臺灣女大學生除了普遍不滿意其自我身材,也呈現相當高程度的減肥動力。相關分析發現,身體質量指數較高、收視電視時間較長、及內化社會理想體型程度較高的女大學生,呈現較高程度的身材不滿意感和減肥動力。但是,自尊感較高的女大學生,則較滿意自我身材,也較不想要減肥。另外,階層迴歸分析結果顯示身體質量指數、自尊感、整體電視收視時間、及內化社會理想體型是身體不滿意度的預測因子。而身體質量指數和內化社會理想體型則為減肥動力的預測因子。
This study examined the influences of college women's (N = 289) television viewing, BMI Index, self-esteem, and internalizations of societal ideals on their perceptions of body dissatisfaction and drive for thinness. The results found that Taiwanese college women were not only dissatisfied their body image, but desired to become thinner also. Correlated analyses indicated that the higher the respondent's BMI index, total television viewing time, and internalizations of societal ideals, the higher her reported body dissatisfaction and drive for thinness. But, the higher the respondent's self-esteem, the lower her reported body dissatisfaction and drive for thinness. Hierarchical regression analyses indicated that BMI index, total television viewing time, and internalizations of societal ideals were positive predictors of body dissatisfaction. And, BMI index and internalizations of societal ideals were positive predictors of drive for thinness.
