The purposes of this qualitative study are to describe the stress of newly nurses and to understand their adjustment method on caring for pulmonary tuberculosis patients. The researcher selected six newly nurses as purposive samplings. A semi-structured questionnaire and face-to-face interviews were conducted for this research. The verbal and non-verbal behavior expressed by the newly nurses during interview was then audiotaped and recorded in a narrative process-recording. Content analysis was used to categorize participants' attitudes and behavior on caring TB patient. The results show that the nurses' stress of caring for pulmonary tuberculosis patients can be categorized as follows: a change from panic and fears of contagion in unexpected situations to relief, and perceivable conflict between individual needs and professional responsibility. The adjustment methods expressed by these newly nurses can be categorized as follows: keeping a positive attitude, actively seeking information, and adjusting one's mood. The results can be considered in service stress management course in order to relieve the newly nurses, working stress.
