摘要

擁有醫學博士頭銜，並兼領臺灣文壇暢銷小說作家的侯文詠，突然在一九九九年辭去臺大醫院麻醉科醫師的工作，而專心於文學的創作，而首先繳出的成績單，就是於同年由皇冠出版社所出版的小說《白色巨塔》。這篇小說是侯文詠任職臺大醫院期間，參考該醫院的空間及運作情形，對現今我們臺灣社會醫療現況的一個反映。因爲是走社會寫實的路線，故筆者試以二0年代西洋寫實主義大師盧卡奇的理論爲批判基礎，來作爲爲這篇小說評論的主體架構，並兼及分析這篇小說所反映，由人性角力所引發出的那些社會問題。
