老年人口持續增加,使得老年人的健康成為重要課題之一,而因年齡增長產生的老化現象導致老年人的肌力、平衡、柔軟度及反應能力都逐漸下降,因此,從事日常生活動作時,為了安全與穩定性,老年人會採取減少肌肉力量使用及下肢關節活動範圍的動作策略。運動訓練(平衡、阻力、柔軟度及有氧運動訓練)可增加平衡、肌力、柔軟度及心肺功能等能力。運動訓練介入後,老年人可更有效的從事日常生活動作,間接降低跌倒之風險。

With growth in elderly population, the health for elderly is an important issue. Decreases in the muscle strength, balance ability, flexibility and response were found with aging. For safety and stability in daily activities, Elderly people would reduce the muscle strength and decrease the range of motion of joint. Exercise training including balance training, resistance exercise training, flexibility exercise training, and aerobic training could increase the abilities of balance, muscle strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness. After exercise training, the elderly could active more efficient in daily livings to reduce the risk of falls.
