The Consideration of Dental Treatment to the Child Patient with Ebstein Anomaly-A Case Report

進行埃勃斯坦畸形(Ebstein anomaly)幼童牙科治療的考量-病例報告

摘要

Ebstein anomaly is a congenital malformation of the heart that is characterized by apical displacement of the septal and posterior tricuspid valve leaflets, leading to atrialization of the right ventricle with a variable degree of malformation and displacement of the anterior leaflet. Ebstein anomaly occurs in less than 1% of all congenital heart defects. Signs & symptoms include fatigue, shortness of breath during play, palpitation, cyanosis or congestive heart failure. This case report presented a 3-year-4-month old boy with Ebstein anomaly and multiple severe dental caries successfully received full mouth dental treatment at chair side. Dental considerations of Ebstein anomaly were also discussed in this case report.
