Madibular Advancing Device Has Successfully Assisted CPAP in Treating Severe OSA Patient-A Case Report

摘要

在這個病例報告中，我們提出一位深受阻塞型睡眠呼吸中止症困擾的肥胖同時具有後縮下顎的男性患者，由於他的症狀非常嚴重，即使使用非常高壓力的陽壓呼吸器仍無法有效被控制，最後發現當陽壓呼吸器與止鼾牙套合併使用時，只需很低陽壓呼吸器的壓力便可達到理想的治療效果。

In this case report we have presented an obese male patient, with class II jaw relationship, sufferred form obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). His OSA was so severe, that by using continuous positive air pressure (CPAP) with very high pressure, the symptoms were still not able to be well controlled. When combined with a mandibular advancing device (MAD), the CPAP could yield a optimal outcome with low air pressure.
