In addition to tooth fracture and luxation, fractures of facial bones and jaw bones are the most common situation that facial trauma patients ask for help in dental clinics, or emergency sugerons ask for dental consultation in hospitals. In most cases, it is not easy for general dentists to provide appropriate treatments for these kinds of patients without oral surgeons in dental clinics and hospitals. This article summarized the principles and methods of treatments to patients with fractures of facial bones and jaw bones. Besides, there were two case-reports presented to show how general dentists provided treatments to patients with fractures of facial bones and jaw bones to restore the occlusion without the assistance of OS specialists.
