Research on Fundamental Mode and high-order Transverse Modes in a diode-pumped solid-state Laser

The forms of paraxial approximation of Maxwell equations are similar to the ones of harmonic oscillator. Therefore, laser beams are commonly modeled by Hermite-Gaussian (HG) and Laguerre-Gaussian (LG) beams. The pure LG(subscript 0, l) modes are generated in an end-pumped microchip laser by defocusing a standard fiber-coupled diode to produce a doughnut-shaped pump profile. On the other hand, 20 HG(subscript m, n) modes also can be produced by using dual-pump microchip laser.
