The Structure and Woody Material of the Yami's Planked Boats on Botel Tobago

Many anthropologists devoted to the study of the structure, types and rites of Yami's planked boats. Basing on these literatures, we extent the research by qualitative analysis of 191 boat's structure and varify the variation of boat's size and woody material among 6 tribes of Botel Tobago Yami people mainly used six woody species to made boat. Four of them are acai (Pometia pinnata), cipoo (Artocarpus incisus), pangowen (Syzygium simil), kolitan (Palaquium formosanum) that were cut off from private forest and the other two are itap (Neonauclea reticulata), anongo (Ficus pubenervis) that cut from public forest. According to the frequency of usage, all species we sort are itap, kolitan, cipoo, anogo. acai, and pangowen.
