The Orau tribe was attacked by the troops of Ching Empire due to their protests against the officer during the Guangxu era of the late Ching Dynasty. This battle extended to the Eastern coast of Taiwan also vanished the forces of the Amisan and Lavlav tribes in the area of Dagangkou. However, in the Japanese colonial period, this ”Orau incident” covered by ”Kiwit incident” and ”Dagangkou incident” was lost in the history. In order to recover this important incident, this study attempts to discuss the possible causes, backgrounds and influences of this battle by literature review and oral histories research.
