民國的來向與歸往：國史館總統副總統文物展中的國族地方感
The Coming and Going of the Republic of China: On the National Sense of Place within the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Artifacts Exhibitions in Academia Historica
摘要
本文以總統副總統文物展為中心，探究國史館以總統副總統為主題布設的常設展示向人民灌輸的國家史觀，及其透露出的國族地方感。研究觀點認為，展示即是一種權力象徵，國史館透過各種關於總統副總統的主題展覽，公開地向參訪民眾呈現、灌輸經過特殊挑選與詮釋的國家史觀與國族地方概念，以協助建構當代臺灣的國族認同。研究採用田野調查、文獻分析、訪談與開放性問卷調查等方式進行。總統副總統文物展前後兩套以總統為主題所策劃的系列展，恰好述說了兩種不同的國史敘事，也透露出不同的國族地方感。建國百年系列展既述說了民國的神話，也述說了民國的現實，使得中國與臺灣兩套國族地方感在展示中隨著時間與空間的轉換，自然而然地先後並陳於展示之中。而我們的總統系列展以行憲以後的總統為主題，國族空間幾全以臺灣為舞臺，文物來源又以陳水扁及其以後的總統為大宗，使得國族地方感帶有濃厚的民主化臺灣氛圍與當代臺灣人的經驗、記憶。然而在兩套系列展中，「中國」始終是一個被避而不談的「他者」，顯見時至民國百年以後，如何進行臺灣、中華民國、中國，與中華人民共和國之間的界定和他者化，仍是目前臺灣社會亟需正視並處理的課題。

This article focuses on the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Artifacts Exhibitions, which is the permanent exhibition series hosted by the Academia Historica and explores the perspective of national history instilled into the Taiwanese people as well as the national sense of place revealed in it. Display is a symbol of power. The Academia Historica presents and inculcates the visitors with specially selected and interpreted views on the national history and sense of place through thematic public exhibitions on the Presidents and Vice-Presidents of the Republic of China to help build the contemporary national Taiwanese identity. The research was conducted using field survey, literature analysis, interviews and open questionnaires. The two exhibition series on the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Artifacts show two different narratives of the national history and reveal different national senses of place. The Republic of China Centennial Exhibitions describe not only the myth but also the reality of the Republic of China. Consequently, the exhibitions display the national senses of place of China and Taiwan along with the change in time and space in parallel naturally and successively. The Our Presidents Exhibitions are themed on the constitutional presidents since 1947. The exhibition shows the Island of Taiwan as the major national space, with artifacts sourced mainly from Chen Shui-bian and the subsequent presidents. This gives the national sense of place a strong democratized atmosphere of Taiwan as well as the experiences and memories of contemporary Taiwanese. However, in both series of exhibitions portray ＂China＂ as an elusive ＂other＂, showing that beyond the Republic of China Centennial, defining and differentiating among Taiwan, the Republic of China, China and the People's Republic of China is still an important issue that Taiwan's society urgently needs to face.
