We review the recent gauge-theoretical interpretation of the phenomena of charge-spin separation (CSS) in the t-J model and of particle-flux separation (PFS) in the quantum Hall state at v=1/2. We point out the strong parallelism between CSS and PFS and reveal the universality of gauge-theoretical interpretation.
