Magnetic Attenuation by HTC Superconducting Cylinders

並列摘要

Bean model has been used for the first time to explain the reduction in attenuation of High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) cylindrical magnetic shields with increasing of the external magnetic field. The attenuation of a 13.2 cm long cylindrical shield made from bulk thallium-based compound (Tl-2223) was studied and was found to be logarithmically decreases with the increase of external magnetic field. A one hole Superconducting Quantum Interference Device (SQUD) magnetometer made from Bulk HTS Tl-2223 material was successfully used for the first time to accurately deduce a semi-empirical relation that describes this behavior in attenuation. Our result was applied for several other shields and seemed to be applicable as well.
