墾丁高位珊瑚礁原始林林下茄苳新生幼苗之族群動態

Population Dynamics of Young Bischofia javanica Blume Seedlings in the Kenting Uplifted Coralreef Forest

摘要


爲瞭解新發芽之茄苳幼苗族群動態變化及其與環境因子的關係,本研究以24週時間在林試所恒春分所龜仔角試驗地調查30個(30公分×30公分)小區的幼苗存活率,其中16個小區並做光量變化測定,14個小區做土壤水勢變化的測定。調查開始時幼苗共有2090株,至第12週有9個小區幼苗全部死亡,總株數降至135株(成活率6.5%),至第24週只剩7小區有幼苗存活,僅26株,成活率低至1.2%。由相關性分析得知,幼苗存活率與樣區照射到的光量程度有顯著正相關,而與樣區原有幼苗密度呈顯著負相關,但與表土土壤水勢不呈顯著相關性。茄苳種子可在林冠覆蓋良好但土壤有干擾之森林下發芽,但幼苗之成活及生長需要有足夠的光量,其適宜之環境條件仍待進一步觀察試驗。

Thirty 30cm×30cm sampling plots were established in the Experimental Site of the Hengchun Branch, Taiwan Forestry Research Institute, to Investigate the population dynamics of young seedlings of Bischofia javanica Blame for 24 weeks. Seedling mortality wan studied among the 30 plots. The influence of various light intensities on mortality was studied in 16 plots, and variation is soil water potential was tested in 14 plots. In 11w beginning of the experiment, there were a total of 2t80 seedlings. By the 12th week, only 119 seedlings survived, and by the 24th week, only 26 seedlings see saved. That is, the survival ratio rapidly declined to 6.5% by 12 weeks, and 1.2% by 24 weeks. Statistical analysis indicated that the seedling survival ratio was positively correlated with light intensity and negatively correlated with initial needling density. There was no significant correlation between seedling survival ratio and water potential of surface soil. Thus, although needs of Bischofia javanica Blume ace able en geminate an disturbed soils under the forest canopy, seedlings need high levels of light intesity to survive and grow. Further investigations are required to determine their moat suitable environment.
