From her old days, Japan has been much influenced by the cultural interaction with China and the Korean peninsula. Although that kind of intellectual communication was mostly related with Buddhism, a lot of medical books were also imported to Japan. This article will introduce two types of the Chinese classic books on medicine available in Japan: first the Chinese medical books which are designated as National Treasure or Important Cultural Asset, and then those newly found ones which are not existent in China any more. As for the manuscript,丹波頼基(Tanba Yorimoto) copied黄帝内經太素(Huangdi-neijingtaisu) (Volumes 21 and 27) in 1168.備急千金要方(Beijiqianjinyaofang) was printed during the South SonDynasty period. In 2012,孫真人玉函方(Sunzhenrenyuhanfang) , which had long been regarded as non-existent,was discovered.玉函方(Yuhanfang) (3 Volumes) is listed in宋史(songshi) 芸文志(Yiwenzhi) (Volume 207).
